We've seen the price drop to as little as £55 in April 2024, which is half its RRP.

The Oral-B Pro 3 3500 is one of the best-value electric toothbrushes around. The brush comes with two features that we see as essential; a two-minute timer that tells you to change your area of brushing every 30 seconds, and a built-in 360-degree gum pressure control that will notify you if you're pressing too hard.

It doesn't come with Bluetooth and app support, but we'd argue these features aren't absolutely necessary. It has three brushing modes, which for around £40 isn't too bad.

The Oral-B Pro 3 has an RRP of £100, but can often be found for around the £40 mark, which makes it cheaper than the technologically inferior Oral-B Pro 2. This toothbrush hasn't cost more than £50 on Amazon since September 2021, while its lowest-ever price was £33.91.

The iO9 made its debut in 2020 and remains one of the most sophisticated electric toothbrushes around. It has advanced mapping tech to learn your brushing habits, a smart pressure sensor and various smart modes to help you work out what type of cleaning programme your teeth are most in need of.

As you'd probably expect from a flagship model, it also has a companion smartphone app so you can keep learning more about the way you brush your teeth. If you're serious about oral hygiene, then this is the toothbrush for you.

However, all of that tech costs money, and that means the RRP on this electric toothbrush is a crazy £500. The good news is that the iO9 is rarely sold at full price. And even when it is, the price usually drops back down to the £200s within a few days.

The Philips Sonicare 7900 has a pretty weighty RRP of £250, but is often heavily reduced at Amazon. Frequently, discounts see the price of the Sonicare 7900 fall to the more acceptable region of £100-£130.

The Sonicare 9900 Prestige is one of Philips' most advanced electric toothbrushes. It comes with 'SenseIQ technology' which promises to sense pressure, motion, coverage, duration and frequency up to 100 times per second and adapts to your brushing in real time.

Some tech-savvy users will be interested in the AI-powered Philips Sonicare app, which tracks your brushing and provides personalised recommendations. And pretty much every user will be able to appreciate that this is one sleek-looking electric toothbrush.

The Prestige 9900 has recently hovered around its £550 RRP. However, you can usually snap up this premium toothbrush for closer to £300, or even less.

Oral-B's Smart 6 electric toothbrush is slightly long in the tooth now (sorry about the pun), but that means you're getting a very good toothbrush at a discounted rate.

The Smart 6 boasts five brushing modes and provides real-time feedback on your brushing technique via a companion app. It has a light-up gum pressure detector that will illuminate if you're brushing too vigorously, and comes with a charger and travel case.

It’s worth bearing in mind that this model is on offer frequently, dropping as low as £54.49 during the deepest discounts.

If you want Oral-B's 'iO' rotary technology but your budget can't stretch to the iO9 or iO10, then the iO8 is a slightly more affordable entry into the series.

This model still includes AI-informed brushing features, six different functions (including sensitive and super-sensitive modes), and an interactive display panel that will remind you when you need to replace your electric toothbrush head (or smile at you when it reckons you've done a good job of brushing your teeth).

The iO8 also has a smart sensor that will help you get a feel for whether you're brushing with a suitable amount of pressure. It comes bundled with a charger, a "magnetic pouch" (basically a protective case) and a refill holder.

The Oral-B iO8 often costs somewhere in the £150-£250 price range.

If you want to stand out and own something a little different to Oral-B and Philips, then you could try Ordo.

With four modes including a setting for sensitive teeth, this Ordo Sonic+ brush releases 40,000 sonic pulses per minute, and comes with a matching charger that has a USB output so you can plug it into your computer or any compatible detachable plug. And it has a two-minute timer, too, with alerts at 30-second intervals so you can change your brushing position.

The Ordo Sonic+ toothbrush has an RRP of £59.99, but we've seen it drop down to £39.99 in the past.

This Foreo Issa 3 stands out with its silicone-led design (including brush bristles made of medical-grade silicone). The ISSA 3, in four different colour options, is capable of issuing 11,000 high-intensity Sonic pulsations per minute.

A key improvement on the ISSA 2 is the Hybrid Wave brush head, which promises to reach every nook of the mouth. It combines PBT polymer with gentle, medical-grade, non-porous, soft silicone bristles free of BPA & phthalates.

Best of all, this electric toothbrush only needs to be charged once a year and comes with a travel lock, 16 adjustable intensities, and a built-in timer.

The Foreo ISSA 3 is currently listed at its RRP of £179. Three years on from its launch, this brush is becoming tricky to find via third-party retailers such as Amazon. If you're a first-time customer with FOREO, you should be able to sign up for a 10% discount on the ISSA 3 via the brand's website.

SURI is for the sustainability-minded. It comes with recyclable plant-based heads and bristles, and it's designed to be repairable if it breaks. The electric toothbrush features a MicraSonic magnetic motor, and is one-third the size of standard electric toothbrushes but delivers 33,000 vibrations per minute.

Different in more ways than one, the SURI is quite rarely sold at discounted prices.

The Oral-B iO4 is the cheapest of the brand's iO Series (yes, even cheaper than the iO3). This model launched in early 2022 along with the iO5 model.

It comes with four brushing modes (daily clean, whitening, sensitive and super sensitive), along with a pressure sensor, which displays a light ranging between white, green, and red to denote if you're pressing too hard, or too softly.

It's a great toothbrush and comes with all the features you could want (without the superfluous features of the more expensive models).

The Oral-B iO4 has an RRP of £240 but can often be found for under £100. This toothbrush comes bundled with a travel case, charger and refill holder.

The Oral-B Genius X, which has an RRP of £299.99, comes complete with a companion phone app, along with six visible brushing modes including daily clean, pro clean and gum clean.

The toothbrush will also alert you if it thinks you're brushing too hard, and count down your clean with a two-minute timer. Oral-B claims the battery also has up to two weeks of charge, and you'll also get one brush head, a travel case, and a two-pin UK plug charger in the box.

If you're thinking of buying the Genius X, it might be worthwhile to wait for a big discount. You can often buy this toothbrush for under £140.

This swish Oral-B toothbrush comes in a chic range of colours, including black, rose gold and white. The toothbrush has a companion app to help you brush effectively, as well as five brushing modes and up to two weeks of battery life.

Also included with the Genius 8000 are a travel case, three toothbrush heads, a power adaptor and a phone holder that suctions to the bathroom mirror, enabling you to use Oral-B's app while you brush.

The Genius 8000 is frequently discounted to under £120, so it's often worth holding out for a good sale price.

This sonic toothbrush from Spotlight has three speed settings, including sensitive and whitening settings, and three different heads, plus a two-minute self-timer. It also comes with a protective travel case.

At the time of writing (March 2024), you can save £44 on the RRP. And as a nice side benefit – especially if multiple family members plan on using a Spotlight brush – you can also take up the option of free personalisation for your toothbrush handle if you order direct from the company.

Oral-B doesn't just do electric toothbrushes; it makes electronic flossers as well. This model, the Aquacare 4, has something called Oxyjet technology (which feeds very small bubbles of air into the water stream), an on-demand mode for water. It's got six different cleaning modes and three intensity settings, and comes bundled with a charger and a spare nozzle.

Taking sales into account, the price of the Aquacare 6 averages out at about £75 but we've seen it drop as low as £40 before. So, it's well worth waiting for a good price, even if that means you'll have to make do with manual dental floss for a few extra weeks.

The Oral-B iO5 gives you a wealth of cutting-edge functionality at a mid-market price, including AI-assisted monitoring of your brushing, five cleaning modes, and a light ring timer to help you keep brushing for a dentist-approved duration.

You can currently buy this toothbrush via Amazon for £100, which is a brilliant deal on a brush that rarely dips below £100.

We're big fans of Philips' sonic toothbrushes, but not so much of the steep prices that often come attached to their replacement brush heads. Thankfully, these essential accessories are often heavily discounted during sale events like Black Friday.

Philips' official Sonicare electric toothbrush heads have been designed to work with the BrushSync tech mentioned above, and have an extra area that aims to tackle surface-level staining on your teeth.

Philips has also teamed up with TerraCycle to launch its own recycling programme – you can either visit a drop-off point near you or set up your own, and the scheme accepts "any brand of electric toothbrush head, electric flosser nozzle, interdental brush and dental floss container". (Colgate and Hello have teamed up to offer a similar TerraCycle scheme.)

When the price of these brush heads drops below £35 for a five-pack, that's your cue to stock up for the months ahead.
